Favorite Car in a Movie

I've been lurking for a while, and finally decided to join this group.

I am shopping for a new car, so I've really been noticing vehicles that are featured in movies and on tv. I have two teenage boys who are excited about X3, the new X-Men movie. I know the new Mercedes GL is going to be in the movie. One of my son's is a big Mercedes fan and is really excited about the GL being in the movie. So, what's your favorite car featured in a movie? And why?

I like the DeLorean in the Back to the Future series myself.

Any old MB's in James Bond. Especialy in the car chase scene in the under ground garage, Bond in a sweet 740IL and the bad guys in a couple of W126's.

The Transporter was awsome, such a nice 735IL, and lots of cool S500's.

Those old BMW's in black are one of the best looking cars ever made.

I'll second that one. Those cars were my obsession before I got into MB's and when I was younger. I first drove one when I was 15. I'd still like to get one someday. I went to their 2004 Convention in Tennessee, my band was hired to play there- 118 cars showed up, it was quite a sight, and nestled in amongst them was my 124

"Eleanor" in Gone in Sixty Seconds wasn't too shabby, either.

OK, I have my flame-retardant suit on. No one has mentioned the 1977 Trans-Am from Smokey and the Bandit?!?! Saw the movie at age 15 and I can't recall ever seeing more people laying rubber leaving a parking lot. Burt Reynolds inspired many a crazed driver that night.
Add to that the Bluesmobile ("fix the cigarette lighter"), the Ghostbusters "Ambulance" ("Who does your taxes?") and Mad Max's ride with the switchable supercharger. (I used to think it was a modified AMX or Javelin but I read somewhere it was a limited production Ford something-or-other.)

I think Max's ride was an Aussie Ford Falcon, as were the pursuit vehicles. Some of the movie's cars could have been Holden's as well. There's one shot of one with an MB front end in the diner parking lot where Goose is eating during the initial pursuit with the Night Rider. Yes I have probably seen that movie more than any other movie ever made. There are tons of Falcons of different vintages throughout the film. Hey, how about that groovy van with the round window Max takes his family in?

My favorites in movies? Probably the Miura in the original Italian Job. Such a great scene. I also love the Astons from the Bond movies, even the Dalton films with what I think is a Vantage. The MB in Ronin is cool, but I confess I like the Audi better. Ronin has some great cars, and Natasha McElhone, all great to look at.
