Allright, I'm getting kinda board with country music right now... Mabey its something to do with my mood, but I'm beginning to like some newer music.

Can anybody put a lable on it?

I like nickelback (animals, side of a bullet.. few others), Offspring (self esteem, keep em sepperated, others) Rage against the machine (Justify, renigades of funk) Red hot chilli peppers...



Stuff like that, I dont know how to describe it, but I know I like it...

Can anybody give me some pointers, or do I need to keep looking?

When I was in high school, we called it Alternative, and it also included cliched Alternative bands like Nirvana and Pearl Jam. I think the kids may be calling it hardcore or something like that now.

I'm not really current on these things. I've been mostly listening to 60's and 70's hard rock, and various not-really-mainstream Celtic punk for the last few years.

It all comes down to preference, really... What music we like or dislike is one of the most personal, individual choices we make in our lives.

But since I am highly experienced, AND highly opinionated on the subject, I'll offer a list of my favorites as a suggestion. Classic stuff, new stuff, and some local and largely unknown bands thrown in for flavor.

Most of the stuff can be found on www.itunes.com, where you can test drive some samples of songs. A Google search should help you find access to some of the less-popular stuff.

OK, here goes:

Led Zeppelin, the Doors, Jane's Addiction, Clutch (if you don't know, you better axe somebody!... they rock!), the Cult, DLR-era Van Halen... I also got hooked on country and grew a bit tired of it. Then I got the Sirius radio and got hooked all over again. Channel 62 is called the roadhouse and plays OLD country from the 40's 50's and 60's. George Jones, Charlie Pride, John Conlee, Conway Twitty,,,, it's all I listen to any more. I know,, my head is in the sand or up my a__.
