Postage meter contracts ...
Hi everybody -
Hope someone might be able to shed some light on this situation. Currently, we have a contract with Pitney-Bowes that we can cancel at any time. We recently had some problems with the postage meter in that we were getting fuzzy printouts. They had to come out and replace the printhead, which took forever. I asked our office manager if I could review our contract, and currently, we are paying $166 per month for the postage meter, postage refills, utilities and maintenance. I went to buyerzone.com and put out a request for a few estimaes on what others had. I got an interesting message back from FP Mailing Solutions in Addison, IL. I looked into getting a new meter machine with a thermal printhead. They quoted me $27.95 per month for the machine, postage refills and maintenance! That is a FAR cry from $166. Why would FP be so much lower than Pitney-Bowes? From what I saw on their web site and from doing searches on them, FP seems to be a very reliable company, and the people that have them are happy with them. Just wondering if anyone would know why the contract would be so much cheaper, and if they've had any experience with FP. Many thanks for your responses, Michael
