I haven't read it, but I might. But I'd point out that China already has a lot of control in Asia, and that is only going to increase. However, they are saddled some what because they hold so many US dollars and have a great deal of capital invested in the US. A major war would really slow the commerce stream, which sensible people would want to avoid. But there are those who would wish the world back to the 7th century, and for them war with China would be good.

China is smarter than that you really don't win wars by fighting it out. They are doing what the Japanese did and pushed themselves to the front of the pack by becoming an economic leader. They hold the largest amount of US treasuries and they rely on us to buy their stuff. That would ruin the fun of having an immense recieveables column on their monthly ledger.

They know you don't have to shoot someone to get something, just buy it from them instead.
