Mpg

94 E320: 26 mpg on a 1140 mile round trip Fairfax VA - Cincinnati OH - Fairfax VA. Four adults and a full trunk traveling 70 - 80 mph most of the way with the A/C on. I like this car.

That's very close to what I get in my 95 E320. Consistently get a between 25 and 26 on my high-speed runs up I-49. About 130 miles each way and I drive (drove) at 80+ most of the way.

FWIW, Louisiana State Police and the various parish sheriffs have widely publicized that they are going on 100 days of severe crackdown on speeders on ALL highways in Louisiana. Mrs B (who rarely gets up to the speed limit) said she saw four troopers in a 90 mile stretch, each writing a ticket.

Bot,
The car has done a bit better on trips over flatter terrain; but on this trip we encountered lots of up one side and down another in western Maryland, West Virginia, and southwestern Pennsylvania. Also ran through several hours of heavy rain in both directions, and I expect that it takes a bit more horsepower to push through the water in the air and on the road.

I am very happy with this car.

regards,
mark

The E420 is pretty good too, very close to that, short by only 2mpg.

Oh, in my old 400E, we got 24.6 on a round trip to Los Angeles. That was 80+ mph, and cruise control most of the way.

I managed a trip to San Francisco and back (100 miles each way) and got roughly 27mpg in the wagon.... That was like 65-75mph the whole way though...
