If you had a Million ...$$$$

.......or more.
Interested in finding out what some of us would do if you came across more money than you have now . Say in the over 3 million range.
Silly stuff, or actual sensible stuff...???

My next door neighbor won $675000 recently, got vinyl siding and replaced an older Ranger and Caravan with a new F150 and Grand Caravan...nice, sensible people.

I think i'd move somewhere nice, LIKE ROMANIA, and get a bunch of old cars fix them, and stop working.

i could pay off all my mortgages and retire from the income on my properties.

better yet only do the architectural jobs that really looked interesting.

to paraphrase what the farmer said " i would just keep practicing architecture til it was all gone"

Good family friends got an inheritance from a family member. The total after taxes came to just over a million.

They bought lotsa rental properties, and a house for them. They live out on Folsom Lake, with an awesome view. They also bought a Corvette and a new Cadillac to replace the Minivan and the Thunderbird that were slowly dieing.

I'm not sure exactly what I would do, but I would strive to never have to wake up to an alarm again.

I would divide it into 3 parts. 1st, to fund an inner-city soup kitchen; 2nd, to unwed mothers for job training and the 3rd to the UN.

Hahahaha!

If I was given $1m tomarrow I'd invest in in good properties that produced nice cash flow. I would grow said $1m over the next five years and then cash out the original million but keep the cash producing property.

After that I would buy either a nice older Swan, in the 50ft range or maybe a Trumpy/Rybovich. Figure $500k for the boat, $500k to get it the way I want it. Then I could enjoy said boat, and would just have to come up with $50k a year to run it.

Pay off all major debts, invest most of the rest in income-producing real estate. Buy a few toys, but nothing extravagant or stupid.
