chevy Silverado..
Anyone have one?
I broke down and bought a used 2006 LT with four doors and a crew cab. I was tired of switching from car to van then back to car. Nothing ever got done and I was always looking for stuff that I kept leaving in the wrong car. Now I have one car that's for work and play. I love the truck so far, it just takes a little getting used to the feel of a pickup truck as opposed to the SDL. Any thought on these things. Thanks

Wasn't there an excessive "piston-slap" issue with some of the motors? Did they get that resolved or was it an isolated anomaly?

I've been borrowing my dad's 2001 Silverado for the past two weeks while my car is up in the air in the garage waiting for a transmission.
It takes at least two attempts to start it, usually three. Even when it's hot. Been to the dealer multiple times, still hasn't fixed it. The ride is bouncy as hell. Gets to the point where I almost vomit when I'm on the freeway. Controls are all clumsy. Bumper seems to be falling off on it's own. Sat in my 126 for awhile the other night. Can't wait till I finish and get it back on the road. |

Seriously, the piston slap issue isn't limited to GM trucks, the Northstar has had it's share. After fighting for a year with GM, they installed a new longblock in my wife's Eldorado. The cylinder bore was out of round, so the new pistons they installed in the o.e. motor just made the knock louder. |

I had a 2000 2500 Suburban and it never gave me any trouble. Just got rid of it last year. Why? (I know that's coming). Too much gas, didn't need it as a tow vehicle anymore, and have two other cars

It was a comedy show at the dealership, they claimed that "they all do that" and wanted to put a new 2006 Cadillac next to the Eldorado to compare noises. When they started both cars, the knocking was so pronounced on the Eldorado that the dealership owner got red in the face. They offered to buy the car back or put a new engine in. We choose the new engine.
