Cousins 73 rustang stuck by lightning, AS MY UNCLE'S WORKING ON IT

WHOLY ****... Yes, i know you're asking what kind of crack I'm smoking, but there were thunderstorms last night, and there was a casualty...

This weekend, we put an electronic dizzy in my cousings 73 mustang... We had some issues, because it was a tooth off (we could go a tooth advanced, or retarded... couldnt get inbetween) So on sunday, we give up after a hulasious backfire.

Monday at around 4, I get a call from my uncle... No words, just the ignition buzzer and a start/rev... He came home early from work, to mess with the car. He said he moved the plugs forward one, and nothing... so he moved them backwards two, and it started right up... Timing was at 8*ish (should be 6*), but close enough on first startup...

Since he's got all the stuff out for setting the timing, might as well do mine (since I know it's effed up )

Take the mustang out for a "test drive" (I highly reccimend an electronic dizzy... AWESOME) and then park it 20 feet from the garage.

We start to work on my truck, but cant get it to idel (gdmmit, tks grampa... 1/2 way disconnected EGR, some halfassed vaccume stuff... )

It's hot, so we've got a fan blowing on it, and the my aunt shows up...

At this time, it looks like rain, but not nasty rain, just a much needed sprinkeling... Light thunder can be heard in the distance...

She wanted to see it run, because my cousin's carpooling with her to work, which is on the other side of town to where she needs to be.

The car's around 20 feet away, so we stand in the garage and my uncle goes to the car. He opens the door, climbs in, and starts it... Revs it a little bit, then shuts it off and starts to climb out.

KABOOM Defening thunder, dirt goes flying... My uncle's just standing there, and the cars antenna is a red hot explosion, and there's a PFFFFFFFFF.

WTF just happened???? Takes a second, but then we realize that the car got stuck by lightening, and my uncle was right next to it.

Damage to my uncle? Singed hair on his leg, and a sear from mabey the rocker? He might have been touching the car, but I didnt exactly think to look at that moment in time

Damage to everybody? SEVERE ringing of the ears... mine hurt and I wasnt right next to it... And almost gave everybody a heart attack.

Damage to car, and surrounding areas?
The lightening didnt srike the car directly, but it was about 3 feet behind the car, and it moved a foot of dirt in the impact... No sat power, or telephones at the house...

The car's got a quarter inch of dirt on it, no antenna, burn marks on the fender, dents in the fender, and it blew the liner out... THis is on the pass side of the car... WHere the antenna is.

The tire on the drivers side of the car is going flat... thats what the PFFF is, but we grabbed a fire extinghisher, we didnt know what it was...

Aspahalt under the car is pushed up an inch, at the lip between asphalt and concrete...

the car does start, hazzards work, and the lights work... but I didnt exactly want to test everything.

We then proceieded to get 3" of rain, and hail, over an hour and a half.

Thank GOD nobody died, my uncle's wasnt hurt worse, and any damaged things arent critical...

I'll get pics to prove this, it will be a while though...

just had the urge to shair.
