I got to thinking, I didn't recall dropping any NC-Bombs lately and since you made the accusation in this thread, I went back here to see if I had.

At one point here, I referred to a general class of "chest beaters" but that was the only one up to that point. Oh dear, I also slipped up and referred to a couple of guys who like to make Berkeley-ians into the new n****** as "intellectual giants."

A wonder that that one made it past the automatic asterisk-ization.

I make no apologies for the horrible "chestbeaters" slur. I disapprove of chestbeating wherever it derives from. The millions of Arabs who are so proud of Hezbollah for "standing up to Israel" are the worst sort of chestbeaters, approximately in the class of people who are STILL pissed off because they didn't get the chance to turn Vit-nam into a parking lot just to show who's boss. We've got chestbeaters syndrome bad in America, hell, we got kids that'll trash their own city if their team wins the Super Bowl, NBA title, etc.

Any kind of obnoxious "we're number 1" overweening pride, especially when crammed down someone's throat, is something I will give a wide berth to.

And on this losing the "Logic-ment" stuff, well hey, buddy, step up to the plate, and you can start by trying to actually rebut (look it up) the points I was trying to make here. I don't think I've lost nothing to you, 'cept the time I've squandered to read your long, self-congratulatory diatribes and to write this probably pointless response. You could also try this one, it'll give some material to jump all over.

Mark, just remember, not everyone in the "left" coast is an effete, pusillanimous, tofu-munching, self-loathing, preachy, pompous know-it-all, handwringer.

Some of us are simple folks, with no great pretenses to vast stores of Internet-derived knowledge. We work, pay taxes, love our country (warts and all) and try to do the right thing, without waiting for someone to give us a pat on the back.

In fact, except for the wacko (smelly) parts of the Bay Area and the whacked out parts of the L.A. Basin, most of California is pretty much like the rest of America.

It is the Berkely-SanFran-L.A. folks who give the rest of us a bad name.
