Hattie, we took the SL600 to a local dyno, and did some dyno pulls with my boss, and some random people... You should have heard the Ford GT doing dyno pulls. It sounded bad @ss. Then a Ferrari 360 pulled onto the dyno.... The noise it made was beautiful!

That Ferrari sounds awesome though.

I know my diesel is powerful enough when I have to get out the spraybottle to cool down the intercoolers. Man that's a sweet sweet symphony of turbos.

Those look like CA cars with their license plates.

Dig this one:

The Lotus finally gets the better of the Ferrrari in the twisties.

I love the Lotus Elise. I love how it passes the F40 in the twisties, but the F40 powers by it on the straights.

But for sheer power, and rarity, give me an F40. There is nothing that sounds better, goes faster, or has the visual appeal.

Lookin' nice - that's Steve Jenkins F40 #88423. There's an F40 owner out there that actually added larger intercoolers and Norwood Performance turbos and is putting out an easy 650 hp... and yes, that's in a 2400 pound car...

I wonder if Norwood changed it to a sequential and progressive turbocharging system. As I recall the #2 turbo would kick like a mule when it was suddenly engaged and would cause hairy power delivery in the twisties.

I have heard of this mod. Supposidly Ferrari would bump the power at the factory for good clients that asked.

That Lotus is an awsome car, also the guy driving it isn't afraid to really push it.

Isn't Norwood Performance in Texas? One of the car mags features some an 1140hp Testarossa and an F50 modified by him for the creator of the 1st person video game guy who has a few bucks to burn. That thing must go through a lot of clutches

Yeah, Norwood is in Texas and they do crazy stuff. I remember reading years ago about the founder of ID software (John or something) trying to break 200 mph in his tuned Testarossa. He didn't break it in the magazine article, do you know if he ever did? (He has sold them both since).

I don't know if he ever hit 200mph. It would seem that quadruple digit power would be plenty enough to get the car up to that speed and beyond. I wonder if the car was so heavy or had far too much downforce or drag to limit the car's launch to 200mph.

Chances are if he never reached them since he sold them.....or got bored with them but who'd get bored of those cars!? Perhaps someone very very spoiled.
