OK...between Kuan's sticky thighs and Carleton's peeing this thread is way over the top...

Can't we just back to insulting people?

I prefer that, especially since I will never have to personally meet them and personally deliver my boot to their butt...

I'm not even sure what that means, just that it sounds nasty. Of course, in my mind anything involving Oprah ans Starr would be pretty nasty.

99 today in Phoenix

Yes, it's lovely spring weather in August here.

No kidding. I'm really enjoying this. It's about time to put down the windows in the 300SD during evenings, the loss of power ain't worth the cooling if it's below 90 degrees.

Yes, Mistress Heather, you can cook eggs on the Phoenix sidewalk. Radio/TV types do it often. But only when it's 118, not the balmy 90s we've got now.

Sheesh, guess I see why everyone moves here and i can't afford a house!!

What'ya'mean we had that thread. I was the ... a-hem... founder of that thread.

Good links. I hadn't heard of the other type, with methanol. I'm going to look into that.

I've been studying the hydrogen ammonia version. Amazing stuff. Takes awhile to get your head around it. I've got a small Dometic RV absorption fridge I keep in my warehouse. Totally silent, but I hear they're not as energy efficient as regular compressor types.

I'm liking the idea of smaller scale parabolic mirror collector systems. The gynormous ones need major grid action. The cost cuts down on the economy of it.

Maple trees. Oh hell...
