Over a late Sunday morning breakfast, Anita Baker's, "Rapture" CD is playing on the iMac.

Gotta love Anita Baker. Man that woman moves me.

O.K., the music selection playing over dinner at Suginami's household is: (drumroll please)

America, The Complete Greatest Hits

Anybody remember, Lonely People, Tin Man, Ventura Highway?

One of my regional sales managers who lives in New Jersey, went to see America play at a club in New York not too long ago.

He said the band stayed after the set, and told everyone they would stay as long as needed to sign autographs.

The band stayed at least 2 hours. Now that is Cooooooool.

You ARE stuck in the '70s.:D

America will be in concert at Pepperdine University sometime (I think) in January 2007. I am planning to take my "hippie" daughter.

This is for all the lonely people...

Macchine da Guerra - Andrea Boncelli

Hey BENZ-LGB, PBS has a program on TV right now about Cuban culture. Really neat program exploring the lifestyle and how its history made it what it is today.

Over the weekend a guy I met was playing some funky English guy in his car. His name was something like Jaime Bedell (?). Apparently he plays all the instruments on the album. In any event I liked it a lot. Anyone know his real name?

Mistress 08-23-2006 03:55 PM

Robert Palmer, no wonder the strip clubs love this guy...

America (more popular than you think)

America’s GH. I run that one through at least once a week.

Funny that some of you bring up folks being old or stuck in the 70s and listening to America.

I’m thinking they may be more popular than most folks here may believe. We keep about 35 CDs available for the passengers in each of the 3 Citations. They range from the latest pop to jazz, big band, country, some rock, to whatever gets left behind. (Never any rap.) All three aircraft have a copy of America’s GH. All three aircraft fly clients ranging from 16 years old to pushing 80 every day. I’d say 6 out of 10 times that I eject the CD player after a flight, that’s the CD I get out of it.
Also - I just spent 7 weeks flying around the guy/crew that (can’t post any names here, but...) hosts “Dirty Jobs“. He happened to have his own copy in hand.
They’re more popular these days than you may think.

I can listen to Sister Golden Hair all day. ( personal issues)
