My wife has a Mazda B2300 pickup. It's just about exactly the same as a Ford Ranger. The only difference I know of is that it says 'Mazda' instead of 'Ford' on the side.

So I'm surprised to see the Ranger at the top of the mid-sized pickup list with others evidently finishing ahead of the Mazda version.

Typical though. Consumer Reports reviews of Mazda vs. Ford RBV's always ends up with odd ratings of what are actually identical vehicles. Just shows the problems with small sampling sizes.

Makes you want to run right out and buy an Oldsmobile van, go out and screech the tires in honor of American ingenuity, oh wait a minute, Oldsmobile isn't even made anymore

How did Buick and Cadillac beat out Honda and Toyota?

Is it because the owners were too sleepy and or had cataract operations and couldn't see the defects or warning lights on the dashboards when filling out the surveys?

So, I'm down the list with a VW, but still above Saab!

Took my new Jetta to the dealer today. Bad master cylinder, causing some rpm surges when accelerating hard. They said they've only seen this happen once before. They're going to replace it under warranty.

Hope this isn't a trend to continue!

Brake master cylinder? Clutch? I can't think of any master cylinder that would somehow cause surging.

Actually, I was in a rush to get to a meeting, so I only half listened to the service writer. So I probably got the name of the part wrong.

Whatever it is, it causes decreased pressure, which allows the rpms to sometimes surge up during hard acceleration, then re-adjust to where they should be.

Must be the clutch cylinder for the DSG transmission i guess it wasn't holding the clutch closed causing flaring. That would be scary if you needed full power and got the flaring.

I drove one in February of this year at the Biodiesel Conference. It's very nice the transmission was very fast and positive shifting but it did kick a little like going from gear to gear in a manual without the clutch. Too bad we can't have em in CA cause I would love to have one

I am not willing to pay 12% over sticker for a 7500 mile car and pay 600-1000for shipping on a car that dealers can't service. It doesn't make any financial sense.
