Thumbs up House thread!

I don't own one yet, but I'm 20 so what do you expect. Since my work kind of is in this area, I look at a lot of houses, about a dozen a week now. Many many more very soon. So I know what I like, what looks good, and what is crap.

For example here is a listing that my broker has. I like this house very much, this is about what I want when I finally move up to the place where I want to stay. But it is in the wrong location. It must be on 10-20 acreas and in Guilford, with water views, and within a very short bike ride of the water.

I dislike LI, sorry. I find Guilford rather pleasent, it really is an old New England coastal town. Not to mention its still one of the cheaper areas to live along the coast.

I love victorian homes! They have so much character and offer a lot that modern homes simply cannot. For example you can have people running around up stairs and not hear them downstairs. We had probably 30-40 people upstairs in the house in that link. You could not hear them walking around.

Notice the front porch and gardens. You can actualy sit outside, and enjoy the world passing by. Unlike in most modern homes.

Notice the colors and wood work. You simply cannot get that today, everything modern is a cube.

Taxes arn't to bad. Mill is 34.36 in Milford, just bumped from 32.18.

Heck half the people in FL are from CT.

come on down and visit.. you can get a nice house over at Reunion.. its a new community with good sized houses starting at 260k and up to 4 million.. great thing is.. taxes are low down here so a 400k house in CT will look like a doll house to these peole that buy the houses in Reunion

Oh yeah I know. All the orange groves are being built up. The FL market is crazy but its in for a cool down very soon. Way to many people over extended with condo's.

I'm thinking about going down there over winter break. Half my family kind of relocates for the better part of the winter to various parts of FL. Grandparents want me to visit, which is cool.
