Talking *** New Grandson ***

Tuesday, the 6th, at 0938, we got our 4th grandson...Zachary Steven Burg.

Lil' guy came into the world via C-section...7 lbs. 3 oz. (What's that in metric? 3.2602 Kilos?) and 19" long.

Here's a new measurement they're giving out...head circumference...19"! What's that for? So the little guy can be fitted w/a "Mopar" cap before he's released?

Anyways, he's been compared to everyone in the family 'cept me. Seems he's got a better than 99.999% chance in civilization now!

Congratulations.

I think the head circumfrence thing is to give mom something to brag about later "Yeah? Well mine was 19 inches around and I didn't scream or nothing" .

That is what my inlaws do. My father in law has set them up selling used golf balls at the local golf course which is within walking distance of their house. My two boys have already made over $150 today!

My father in law is the best Grandfather ever. I am very lucky to have him. He has a special bond with my middle child. He would rather hang out with the grandkids than the adults.

Sounds like your FIL enjoys "being a kid" more than acting his age. Hmmmmmm...not a bad thought.. Our kids do make us act our age...even the wife tells me to do it...the kids are just happy they have someone they can "tie around their lil' fingers!"

I'm doing some stuff with the oldest (9 y.o.) GS now - Flag (not tackle) Football (A safety/insurance/lawyer kind of thing...) The wife (MeMaw) gives all the kids these "ALTOIDS" mints...sorta' like giving a kid something sour to watch what kind of face they make...anyways, I swear, as a grandparent, you could give your grandkids a "pre-shot" spit-ball, tell them it's a TIC-TAC, and they'd eat it just because you'd said it was edible. However, you know they're getting smart when you tell them vegetables (sp?) are good for 'em (You KNOW their parents ALREADY gave them that line... ) and they lood at you like you're nuts. I just "sugar" them up and send 'em home when it kicks in...

In "mom's" case...it was a C-section...I don't thnk there's a whole lota' braggin' going on in that case. I think she's going to brag, probably, about the length of the "C" scar and about how long she had to put up with the labor pains before deciding the "C" route...she was complaining about the how much time it was taking, and the traveling to and from the hospital (for a week) that she was putting everyone though, along w/the usual hospital "monkeying" around stuff. Anyways, they arrived at the hospital (for the last time!) Tuesday morning at 0700 and Zack was born at 0938. There's even a picture with Zach's face "scrunched up" in the Sectionist's hand as Zach is being lifted out of mom's belly. All you see is his face between the thumb and index finger, his eyes, nose and mouth, only, just above the hand and the hand is right on the belly...pretty strange camera-shot...he's officially about 5-seconds old at that point...from my understanding, in C's, the official time is when the head is free (or out) of the womb)...pretty much a moot point since everything else is a "quick" slip after that point. Right?

Anyways...thanks for the congrats...now I just have to remember ALL the B-dates and years that they were born...

Cool *** It's not in the genes! ***

I appreciate the congrats, but as I point out to everyone, "It's not me that made the kid..."

I only had one kid. And I ADOPTED him (He was my wife's son from her first marriage.). And since I couldn't have my own, that was my only run at immortality...only one "Burg" to carry on the name, and it wasn't my own DNA.

As for my "grand-pants" needing a "cool-down" period, remember...it's NOT MY PANTS that need controlling!

I've pointed out, to the "pants," he needs to take stock of his finances before he heads out to the dances.

Hey congrats! He's a little young yet, but you know what they say about head circumference.

Kuan: Isn't that "head circumference" reference really about foot size? Hey, ladies out there!!! Any truth to THAT particular "tale?" (BTW, my foot size is only 7-1/2 - E (Flat, no less!)

S'up dawg? BTW, just call me cmac. I've thought about dropping the 2012 part -- it was my previous e-mail moniker. OTOH, I've done web searches, and apparently no one else in the world uses that 8 character combination. That's kinda wild, huh? 8 characters and I'm unique in the whole world, at least on the web and where else would someone use such a moniker?
