CentOS = Real nice Linux PC operating system
Someone at work downloaded and burned the CentOS 4-CD set, and I installed it on a PC that has a spare hard drive. They don't tell you, but its really the current Red Hat thats been delabeled. You can create a work station or server, and the installation is as automatic or custom as you want it to be. The whole installation took about a half hour, including GRUB to optionally boot up Windows. After trying it, I can honestly say this looks as good or better than Windows ever did. Everything works, and almost everything has a nice graphical interface. Obviously some people spent a lot of time getting it right. Best of all, its free. Just sharing the good news.

Very cool, so are the apps built for it 100% compatible with the Redhat designed programs?

Except for the name changes, all the binaries are the same. Everything that runs on RHEL runs on CentOS. Of course in a business environment certification means a lot and some vendors might not specifically certify it.
