Nice, when I was little about 10 or 11 ish I almost got to ride in a B17. I still regret missing that. They were flying one out of an airshow that we were at, make a donation and get a ride sort of deal. Didn't find out until it was to late though.

Did get to walk through one though, that is one cramped plane.

I attended the "dress rehearsal" for the airshow on Friday. There was some way-cool stuff there. The Blue Angels were fantastic as usual.

Not at all.
The Yak-52 first flew in 1976. It's an aerobatic trainer used by prospective fighterjet pilots.
This thing can pull 7 g's. (we only did 4 g's on my flight but that was plenty!)

One of the pics below shows me wearing my parachute while I'm standing on the wing after the flight. My "bail out" instructions were pretty simple:

- Open the canopy
- unbuckle my seatbelt
- stand up and put my butt on the side of the plane
- fall out backwards

I'm glad I never got a chance to do it!

Here's an F-4U Corsair like Pappy Boyington flew in the "Black Sheep Squadron". One of the pics shows an F-18 flying with the F-4U.

These are the Geico Skywriters and Patty Wagstaff.

Patty was unbelieveable! A six-time member of the US Aerobatic Team, Patty has won the gold, silver and bronze medals in Olympic-level international aerobatic competition and is the first woman to win the title of US National Aerobatic champion and one of the few people to win it three times.

BTW, due to air-space restrictions, the Concorde was prohibitted from going super-sonic...that meant it had to fly nose-down the whole time while it was State-side...I wonder what it would have been like to ride that thing super-sonic...
