I first saw this pic a couple of years ago - it gave me a hard-on then, and another one when I saw it today (can I say hard-on here?).

Getting the hover thing down...

In our early days of helicopter flying. For intense hover training, my father would fly my brother and I to a lake with a sandy beach. We would take turns using the front bend of one of the skids to write our names in the sand. On the windy days, we were only allowed to print.

I now do the same thing training pilots.
