I've even seen a McLaren in real life. I did ride in a Ferrari and a Lamborghini before....only liked the Ferrari. The Lamborghini had way too many blind spots and I felt like I couldn't see anything around me. Maybe it's because I'm only 5'8?

Did the make the F1 with only the BMW engine? I thought I read somewhere that a Mercedes engine was used in some versions.

I read that they'd do 0 to 150 mph in 11 seconds. A bit fast, no?

The 0-150 time is correct. I have been told (never beend in one) that its actualy uncomfortable under full throtle until about 150mph. I was also told that if you held it at 200mph and gunned it the car would take off like similer super cars do at half that speed.

The kicker is unlike a lot of super cars you can drive an F1 to the mall with the AC blasting, and it will fight traffic like anything else.

Today there are cars that are almost as fast, and a larger number that are capable of 200+. But remember the F1 is a 15 year old design now, back then nothing could come close, and even today only a couple cars do truely come close.

BMW contracted with McLaren to build that engine, it is built specificaly for the F1. I don't know if MB or AMG might have bid as well but they all have that BMW V12.
