Ah, the curese of intelligent prodigy. My oldest spoke early, read early and when first enrolled in kindergarten (no preschooling) the teacher and administration recommended that she be placed with the 1st graders. In each grade, the challenge was to make sure that she was being academically challenged by the curriculum. Although advised to consider a private school, we were committed to, and believed in, the public school system.
