I did some in the early 80s. I didn't like it .. but it did smell good.

the highschool i was supposed to go to back in CT was known to be full of druggies... and this town was 100% white upper class.. so these kids had access to loads of money and drugs... im glad i never went to that high school.. i tend to not associate with people that do hardcore drugs like coke... but i do know a few pot smokers.. theyve asked me if i want to smoke and i just say nah im good.. they dont pressure me or nothing

It will ruin your life. My cousin was really into it, I havn't seen him in four months. He left home about a year ago and now lives in some hole up in New London with a few friends, works $10 at an hour jobs and is on the fast track to no where at best, death at worst. He has gotten better over the last year but still does a bunch of drugs.

I don't do drugs and never will, I view it as a personality weakness. Nothing good will come of it at best, I say all those people on Wall Street probably do it because they think there lives suck and are depressed. They will suck all there money up there nose if they keep at it, and end up trashed in a gutter somewhere. I know a marina where the owner snorts all the profits, shame could be a really profitable business.

Fine red and white wine is about as far as I go, with maybe some beer once in awhile.

Drugs in moderation probably aren't going to screw you up too bad. The question is whether you can keep it in moderation or not. Red wine is supposed to be good for you. However, if you are chugging it down, well. Look at water. Good or bad for you? Drink enough and you can have water poisoning. Now, would I spend the money for cocaine? Probably not. I rather have a fast drive in some deserted area. Adrenalin buzz is pretty decent. I like to drive fast so I have to be as sober as I can. I used to be addicted to Coke. Walked a quarter mile in 1 foot of snow wearing a very light windbreaker, shorts and tennis shoes to get change for a couple cans at 0400 hrs. Dorm director would never believe that I was on the girl's floor to get change for the soda machine. I would get *****y and have withdrawal symptoms within half a day. Now, I can enjoy a Coke when I want since I am off the addiction, smoke a cig or two when I want an do pretty much what I want within reason.

Drugs screw more people up, I don't see how its fun o get screwed up. I find my life interesting enough as it is.

Somehow I don't see the comparison to having a glass or two of wine with dinner a couple of times a week.

As that guy says on South Park. "drugs are bad." Thats pretty much the whole thing in a nut shell.

You're right -- there is no comparison or analogy to draw -- because it's the exact same thing, except for legal issues.

Come again? Cocain is an illegal addictive substance that ruins people. Wine is a drink, like milk, or Moutain Dew? Did I miss something? Since when did doing coke become ok?

hahaha...you guys are nuts in here. I just wanted to know why people in the financial field tend to do cocaine and I get crazy stories. It's fun though, especially the story about smoking crack to sleep with a girl. LMFAO

People in the financial field often do it, particularly traders, because of the high stress. Aren't 90some % of traders smokers? At least that's what I think it is.

What happens when that glass of wine or two a week becomes a bottle or two a day? What happens when a toke or two becomes a "wake and bake" day? Same thing.

350 Percent Stronger Than Red Bull

Sept. 18, 2006 -- - Most people know what cocaine is, and now Redux Beverages in Las Vegas is offering what it calls a "legal alternative" to the illegal drug in form of an energy drink.

Jamey Kirby, the drink's inventor, says the name for the drink -- Cocaine -- came to him during a brainstorming session at 1 o'clock in the morning.

"It's an energy drink, and it's a fun name," says Kirby. "As soon as people look at the can, they smile."

Kirby says Redux wanted to make a beverage that would send a sensation to the mouth. He describes Cocaine, the new beverage, as a "fruity, atomic fireball" drink.

Real Cocaine?

The 8.4 fluid ounce energy booster has no actual cocaine in it, but it does contain 280 milligrams of caffeine. According to the company's Web site, the only way to get more caffeine per ounce is with an espresso.

"It's just a bad idea and has all the same downsides of too much caffeine plus a very bad name," says Dr. Charles O'Brien a professor and vice chairman of psychiatry at the University of Pennsylvania.

The beverage is marketed to give a person a "high" coupled with a tingly euphoric feeling within five minutes of drinking it. That initial boost is followed 15 minutes later by an energy buzz that will last five to six hours, according to the company.

Kirby claims Cocaine is "350 percent stronger than Red Bull" but that people do not experience the "sugar crash" or jitters that he says some of the other energy drinks can produce.

The Secret Formula?

Kirby confesses that a "throat-numbing" ingredient is added to the drink to emulate its namesake, but he won't divulge the identity of that add-in, saying it's confidential.

"We're getting a phenomenal response," says Kirby, crediting the can's simple design and product promotion for the drink's early success among consumers from high school kids to 30-year-olds.

The company isn't hiding from mixing Cocaine with alcohol. On the drink's Web site, www.DrinkCocaine.com, it posts a variety of alcohol and Cocaine combinations.

Kirby, who says the world is ready for a beverage named after an illegal drug, has been surprised by the lack of controversy over the name of the drink.

"We've been shocked by its acceptance," he says. "We thought it would be a hard sell."

So far, the drink can be found only in bars and convenience stores in the Los Angeles and New York metropolitan areas. It is expected to debut in San Diego this week. Kirby says the company is already getting inquiries about selling the product in England, Italy, Australia, South America and Central America.
