Microwave time conversions wtd...
Allright, for lunch everyday, I'm comming home, and eating my own food. I hate school food, it's WAY to greasy, and I consider it extreamly unhealthy.
Due to a 45 min lunch hour (5 min commute each way), it's down to a half hour to cook, and eat my food. Kinda narrows it down to sandwitches, and microwavable goods I've been buying weight watchers "smart ones" (anybody know of healthy microwave meals?) The problem is, that it takes 5 min, on a 1000 watt microwave. Our microwave is older then me, and puts out 600 watts... Is it as simple as multiplying the cooking time by 1 and 2/3, or is there more math involved? Just wandering ~Nate

Is this an Americanism?
Is the food warmed through in 5 min at 600 watts? If so I'd say you don't need to compensate with more cooking time. You can check more precisely with a meat thermometer if you know how hot the food should get (160*F for pork, etc.) I don't know if those temps apply to food that is cooked and then frozen. Put it in for 10 mins. Rotate half way through, unless it has a built in turntable.
Wolf down your food, choke and die.

I think Healthy Choice are actually kind of healthy and not too bad. When I don't feel like springing for those, I go with Michelina's as they seem to closely resemble home cooked meals that have been frozen. And actually, the Weight Watchers stuff is pretty good if you can get past the name and its implications of 12-step program membership.
