Chevy compared to Ferrari

I have a severly computer illiterate friend that has problems turning a computer on and I told him F--- Winders get a Mac and end your problems that is what I did. He is a Ferrari guy like me and heads to comp USA and asked the sales person what the difference is and the Comp guy says "It's comparing a Chevrolet to a Ferrari". For once I totally agree with a Comp USA guy I can't figure out why a person that is mediocre with Winders does not get a Mac. Since I have been mac'd I have nothing but frustration with Windows it's clunky, Crashy and generally a POS.

With that said and prices dropping on Mac's why do people still buy Winders machines?

Why?

Runs extremely fast and internet pages never even load up...they just pop up as soon as you click it. And the crazy thing is that I only restart my comp once every 2-3 weeks before it starts to slow down.

There you go. After 2-3 weeks it starts to slow down.

A mac never does that. It doesn't need to be shut down or restart to keep it from slowing down or crashing.

I know a guy who is using a mac as a server for a website, and hasn't shut it down for years.

They're like Hondas, many backwards compatible parts which in themselves are better than the OS which runs them. You can also customize, repair and fix them easily. (re. diesel owners )

Edit: The other bonus is that the manufacturers can put the latest components on the market faster than the big OEM's can ramp up their production with the custom cases and platforms. Plus there is a cost savings if you know what you're doing.

There are many UNIX/Linux variants run on them who can complain about that?

Having switched to a mac I ask people that question all the time, and I usually get one of three answers.

One is that they have used a pc for so long and that they are afraid to change.

Another reason is that they believe the rumor that there is little software available for the mac.

A third is that they use one piece of software that won't run a mac.

Yes. Word was actually created for the mac initially and was converted for pc use.

You can buy Microsoft Office for the mac, and it contains the full suite of programs.
