Any Professional Photographers here?
I had lunch with a professional photographer the other day and shared a few of my portfolio with him and he thinks that several of the photos "are magazine grade" photos and I should pursue publishing them. I'm not bush league; when I was a film hobbyist I won several competitions as an adult and many blue ribbons in school photo competitions on the state and national level. I was really pumping him for ideas for better composition and technique so I did not want to venture into the how do I publish this stuff route. I think he assumed that I knew how to do it.
What is the best route to get photos published? |

No longer a pro, so my experience may be a bit dated. Locally, ad agencies and publishing houses and other print business take contributions of stock photos. Check local magazines for the names of the photo or art editors and contact them. There are national and international photo agencies that you can submit unsolicited work to as well. Self publishing is also an option.
