Well he didn't waste any time. I'm not surprised at all that he is leaving in the wake of the elections. With Dems in control of the House, and able to hold hearings on anything they want, Rummy was a bigger liability than ever.

Yet another reason I am sick of partisan politics at the federal level. I say send them all home. Close homeland security.

Some would call it partisan politics. Some would call it accountability.

I guess if the investigations would have started with the new democratically controlled house then it is indeed accountability.

You really need to stop holding back!

One of daddy Bush's main henchmen. I will not miss him. Now they need to get rid of the rest of the war mongers. Does that mean Bush will resign?

Actually, GW chose Rumsfeld despite GHWB's reservations. Lots of bad blood bewteen Bush Sr. and Rumsfeld, going back decades. According to Bob Woodward, Bush Sr. considered Rumsfeld to be "arrogant, self-important, too sure of himself, and Machiavellian".
