The actual temp required to freeze the water in the mixture before the salt settles out is dependent on the mixture ratio of the saline solution, eg: a 5% solution of NaCl melts at -3 C, a 10% solution melts at about -6.5 C.

The moral is: Dont go ice fishing with a Playboy playmate.
Well, whatever the case may be, it'd have to be colder that a witches tit!

Um, my answer would be that saline doesn't freeze.

You can cool the solution to get water crystals and salt crystals, but not frozen salt water.

"Pure water freezes at 0°C, but the freezing point can be lowered by dissolving salt in the water. If the solution is then cooled to below the new freezing point, water crystals (i.e. ice) will start to form. As a result, the remaining saline solution becomes further concentrated, until the saturation point is reached. This intersection of the freezing point line and the saturation point line is referred to as the eutectic point. Below the eutectic point, salt crystals will be formed in addition to the water crystals."
