The QuasiTurbine Engine

I'd just LOVE to get my hands on a print of one. It's interesting, to say the least. 32 cycles PER revolution. Amazing.

Despite it's claims to the contrary, too mechanically complex, even the "simple" one is composed of several pieces which seems to transmit power through sun and planet gears, not direct torque.

Each separate mechanical piece composing the rotor is responsible for it's own mass, despite being linked together which would seem to impose it's own individual stresses resulting in frictional losses, not to mention inadequately tested sealing techniques. Just think of a mini-bike's centrifugal clutch.

One reason the Wankel was reasonably successful was due to the rotor being one piece, although imperfectly sealed.

Looks like the same low torque design that plagues the rotary. But at least the rotary can rev - this thing would probably fly to pieces. I drove an RX7. The gas mileage was terrible and the heat loss was amazing. That's why I'm still a fan of the piston.

And most Modern engines have a few hundered pieces.

It's a step up from the wankel. The chambers are not spread out like the wankel's (Which is the reason for wankel's poor MPG)

Main point is, All of the parts have a function - all of the time. On a piston engine you have a couple of cylinders firing at one time, whaile the others are draging. Photo-Detanation is also one great idea. Only problem is with seals...
