I never heard of THAT before !!!

When we received our bill at Dingbats, a local eatery, which is part of a chain around here,,,, there was NO CHARGE for the drinks. When I asked why this was so, the waitress said that they were between liquor licenses and they were allowed to give drinks out free, but they could not charge for them. Naturally they didn't tell anyone before the fact.

That's a new one: being "between liquor licenses".

It's what they put the daiquiri in at the drive-thru daiquiri shop or on you're way out of the bar. As long as the cup has a lid on it, it isn't an open container.

No, we were out of there. I never heard of such a thing as "between liquor licenses" either, but you better believe that it must be the law. Pennsylvania has some of the most arcane liquor laws IN THE WORLD,,,, believe me.

Had that happen at a new indoor soccer complex. They just opened a bar area for over-21 crowd and were dispensing beer, but didn't have their license, soooo....

...the beer was FREE!

I'm not sure anyone cared whether their team was winning or not!
