i just got home. everyhting went well. one small minor problem. he got the joint in backwards and so i will only be able to walk in circles.

my wife will confirm this is only a practical confirmation of a trait that i have already mastered.

just kidding. all is well. it pretty much hurts only when i am sitting wrong or walking.

the biggest problem is the no driving for at least four weeks, i think.

the effects of the morhine family pain killer are interesting. i was walking (sortof) from the wc to the dining room and paused next to my sink to contemplate what i was giong to do next. i started dozing off. dreams instantly. full color images of completely unrlelated places. then i sat down while mrs w was fixing me something to eat and would doze off in a second or so and when she would speak i would be back instantly from the quickly formed dream world.

so in 45 min i will take my second reduced dose of the pain med.

in the mean time i will be trying to get off it asap. i am too drowsey this way. the dreams are fascinating but reality is my preference.

we put in "the african queen" and watched them down through the three sets of rapids. i kept dozing off and coming back. kindof like watching a nascar race!

I am amazed at your progress, and how quickly you were discharged. Congrats.

But I'm puzzled about what procedure you had that got you out so fast.

Mine was also done on a Tuesday. My hospital's practice is to keep us in until Friday if you go directly into a rehab facility and Saturday if you are discharged directly home. You were discharged directly home on Thursday???

On my Thursday, I couldn't stand (w/o almost fainting) in the AM, and a little walking (with a walker) in the PM.

How did you get up and around so fast? Did you have a re-surfacing or partial hip done?
