I tried it and it was poochy even compared to my E300 that has a turbo.
but benz does not offer a gas blown six does it? why would you want to compare it to that?

How about a 400 cdi

I live 1/2 year in Germany, !/2 here near Chicago. I just bought a 2002
S320 cdi. It has turbolag. I almost bought a 2002 S400 cdi (for less money),
but decided against it for safety reasons. The 400 is electronically limited to 150MPH!!!! This one had that limiter changed, and now is able to go 180 MPH.
I figured that at some point I would probably try to find out if that was true....and decided against buying it, and bought the 320 instead. The power of the 400 is awsome! I had it for about 3 hours (all autobahn, too much traffic).
I am going to try to do something about the turbolag on the 320cdi, anyone have any suggestions? Never had a diesel before, but I really love it. The price for diesel fuel is around $ 5.30 per gallon, super gas about $6.40/gal.
I had an 1997 E 240 (V6) before, but was getting too expensive to run.
Again any suggestions on improving the turbolag would be appreciated...thanks

I'm thinking that if an E320CDI is "not wanting for performance" then a C320CDI would have to be sold as a sports car - lighter chassis etc...
oh heck yeah.

Well, I can do without the 170HP but the 6-Speed manual sounds good. Damn SLK costs way too much.

MB is talking about bringing the C-class CDI to the US in the next two years - that might become my new commuter.
