Living should teach us the skill of being able to say NO, as necessary, to protect ourselves. However, in the post - sixties world, it's considered a dirty word. Save saying yes for the ones you love. You'll never regret it.

Sign up for some Timeshare salespeople to talk to you. Practice saying "No" to them. I do. I got there, take the gifts, pretend to be interested and then say "No thanx.".

Stop being his mother. Tell him to pay up or he's out. Put a lein on his car, keep the toys or make him sell them on e-bay. Play hardball with him. Business is business. He owes you money. That he cannot keep a job for an extended period of time is a signal.

My ex-wife's first son, by her previous marriage, is a mooch. When we drew up the papers, I added a clause that he was not to live in the house. This was to protect her and also our kids from his less than sterling influence.

Have him sign it over to you, transfer the title, and don't, I REPEAT DON'T, let him drive it again. Be sure to give him a dollar for the transaction, and have him sign a sales receipt.

I agree with everyone. The message is consistent and the advice is sound.

Neither a borrower or a lender be.....;)

You have a lot of spare time on your hands, Aklim? You're right, though. Time share sales people are absolutely rabid. I guess if you need practice saying "NO," they make excellent practice partners. Just leave your wallet at home.

I make time to practice. That way, I get some freebies and practice which helps in the future. Call it an investment. Call it a vaccination against some horrible disease.
