What is your favorite restaurant where you live and what dish would you recommend? I like Burn's steak House in Tampa, Fla where I used to go to school and I like Cheesecake Factory for the obvious reasons..

Angkor Wat, 4217 Geary (near 5th Ave) in San Francisco.

Simply the best Cambodian restaurant around. The Pope ate there on his visit in 1987. The Lemon Grass/coconut soup is really good. Satay type beef skewers with the Peanut sauce are a good bet, and with the iced coffee.

They have Cambodian dancers perform there, Saturday nights

Off the tourist track but worth it. 38 Geary bus from downtown gets you there.

Siam Orchid in Sarasota. Try the Nam Sod and the Green Curry.
Asuka Japanese Steakhouse in Port Charlotte - besides good tableside cooking, they prepare sushi better than average.
Briandi's in Venice/Nokomis - small place in which you almost expect to find some "family" sitting in the corner talking about "that thing the other day", good prices, excellent cooking and you won't leave hungry (I hear they have the best Shrimp Scampi)
Crazy Buffet in Tampa - Not only a huge variety of Sushi, with lots of fish in every piece, but it's also All you can eat (incuding Filet most of the time).

Our all time favorite:
Nick’s Lighthouse. On the wharf in SF.
Nothing really great about the place. D and I love SF, and Nick‘s has some sentimental history with us. It‘s such a great “Getaway Date” from the usual cr@p we have around here.

That - and Yorkshire Fish & Chips in Denver.

Bombay Bistro right here. All I need is a plate of their steamed mussels. It comes with a broth that you soak up with that Indian round puffy bread. Its a meal in itself. It reminds me of the Seinfeld risoto episode - 'its so f**** good!'

There are 2 places here. The bar I don't go to and the other place has just reopned as a Mexican resturant and I haven't had time to go there. So the next closest place I've been to that I like is In-N-Out.

From what I have been told the best restaurant in St. Louis is Tony's. They were at one point a Michelin 5 star, and the only Italian restaurant in the US to have a 5 star. I think they are down to a 3 now. I have never been there, because I can't fathom spending $300+ for two people to have dinner.

San Francisco: Postrio's - Anything on the menu is great, but the dessert sampler is awesome.

Santa Barbara: Enterprise Fish - Lobster Bisque, and grilled Mahi-Mahi!

Los Angeles: Crustacean - Lobster Noodles, Lemon Sorbet (the owners have two SF locations too but have fewer celeb sightings if you're into that)

Los Angeles: Miyagi's in Hollywood get there before 6:30PM everything on the menu is 2 for 1. Get the filet mignon and prawn combo and any sushi you can think of. Oh and by the way the waitresses are aspiring actresses and are H-O-T

Milwaukee: Cameron's Steakhouse - Amazing Filet Mignon and save room for the strawberry chocolate bread pudding!

There used to be "Wolfie's" in Miami Beach, I think it closed and left behind a legend.

Else, I'm in for a 4000 miles trip south, in order to get to the "Restaurante Tunupa" in the 'Sacred Valley', close to Urubamba, Peru.
