Working. 1/2 our customers are closed, but I also deal with folks overseas.
PM here is dead slow, but quiet enough to get some non-work related stuff done. I'll likely leave early.

Thumbs down *** MLK day - Doesn't do anything for me... ***

Just like Valentine's Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas - even my birthday ... Another day, on call w/a cell-phone strapped to my @$$ ... that works out to about < $5.00/hr..

Yah, I'm at work.

PS: ONLY after I had to shovel 4" off the driveway first!

Hey were you around when the Chambana forgot to order salt for the roads?

At this stage they can't lift the seat, later on they can't put it down. It's only women who care about the latter. Hell we're men. Who cares?

After they miss a few times and it doesn't get cleaned up fast enough, the whole place starts to smell like pee. I like the bathroom "hotel room clean". The boys are pretty good, but teaching them to clean is a good thing.

Teach them to sit. My mother used to make me, because of splatter - later, when I was living the single life in my own place, I continued to sit....Why? Cuz I was the sonofagun who had to clean the freakin toilet, that's why! Even if I did enjoy cleaning, I still don't want pee splatter everywhere yeeech.

Now in a public restroom I use the urinal like anybody else with the proper equipment would. (obligatory flatus included)

Sitting does not diminish your manliness....it does make you feel smarter though about not having to clean the toilet but once in a blue moon.

whoops! ... I order to not hijack the thread: Yes, I worked today.

When I get to be Supreme Maximum Ultimate Leader of the USA, I'm going to dump all Federal holidays. I know very, very few people who do any act of commemoration of any holiday.

At a guess, I suppose MLK Day gets more interest than most federal holidays. But it seems to me that if an employee felt so strongly about some individual or event that the employee wouldn't mind taking leave for it. That adds to the value of commemoration, to make a sacrifice in it's honor.

Do I hear an amen?

If there wasn't an official holiday (i.e. day that people can have off work/school), then how would anybody be able to celebrate? How would you have such things as a parade?

Your idea makes no sense to me. Are you suggesting Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc... not be holidays either?
