I'm looking for summer employment this summer. I want to go somewhere out west, maybe down south, or on a beach. Anyone know of any good web resources for finding ones? Or have a recommendation? I'll be 19 by then, so can't go somewhere where I'd need to be 21.

I'm considering a place thats 10 miles from Denali National Park in Alaska. I'd be driving the benz up there, upwards of 5,000 miles (from Kentucky). Might be quite an adventure. I'll definately start a thread, if that becomes reality, on what to do to the car, and what to take with me when I go. Anyone know if AAA operates in Canada and Alaska?

Contrary to what bums on the street and indolent teens may tell you there are so many jobs available out there as to make no odds. You might have trouble getting into landscaping, processing chickens, or the like simply because there are too many illegals available, but look in any newspaper classified, esp. on Sunday, and there is a wealth of jobs to be had.

If you are reasonably intelligent, speak fair English, are presentable, don't pick your nose at the interview, show up on time, and do your work you should be able to get and keep most any job you can BS your way into.

Remember that you really don't have to know the job you are applying for. A good line of BS, a modicum of job knowledge, a willingness to work and you should be in like a rat up a rope. I spent 20 years working around the world in countries who's language I didn't speak doing exactly this. Remember, that the company doesn't have anyone to do the job or they wouldn't be advertising for help. So if you can learn enough about the job before they find out that you don't really know anything they will mostly be forced to keep you because they don't have anyone else. Plus you will dazzle them with your hard work and inventiveness.

What ever you do DON'T be afraid to apply for any job-save brain surgery, maybe. All they can do is fire you, and you didn't have a job before you got this one, so you are none the worse off. Also, the fact that you get fired does not go against you in heaven. You can only gain through these experiences.
