1) To get done with all the fluff early

2) To have the rest of the day to myself

IPOD....Hmmm,probably burns his own CD/DVD's as well....could always demurely inquire about any gadget or specific artists he does not have yet, trying not to give the game away..You share his musical tastes?

Pestilence angle aside, neither do I. I don't like "ATM machines," "PIN numbers," or "VIN numbers" either...

Used enough, and an acronym will turn into a word and the original meaning of the acronym becomes lost (like your examples).

I don't know if anyone else has said it, but its a bit of a mood killer to call Valentine's Day "VD" day.

Back on topic. I don't expect or want anything for Valentine's day, except to know what to get my wife so the day can meet her expectations.

Yeah, I didn't know they had a holiday for that.

Along the lines of Bill Evans, right now I'm listening to "Dave Brubeck Plays for Lovers". Similar stuff, highly recommended.

Unfortunately, I'm working.

Alone.

I just discovered Bill Evans, amazing jazz pianist. In the off chance he hasn't already purchased some Bill Evans I'd highly recommend it. Seriously romantic stuff.
