I'm such a dumb@ss

Went to peel open the package for my contact lenses and managed to grab the contact while ripping open the package. Looked around like a fool for the lens when I didn't see it in the package and was about to throw a fit and call the manufacturer when I noticed I was holding a ripped contact lens in my hand.

Gah!

Haha. My grannie sent me a birthday check and in my fervor, I ripped the check in half while opening the envelope. She had a good laugh and sent me another check.

Sounds like a bad packaging design. There oughta be no way that can happen. Like maybe a package with a little nick in the foil so it tears in one spot only, then have the contacts in a folded plastic bag inside so you could get them out of that bag w/o having to tear anything. If the plastic was much harder to tear than the outer package, you'd have some protection.

I’m with cmac and BW.

Sounds like bad packaging to me. Not Kuan being a DA.

And - Damn straight.
If someone’s going to park a VW in my eye and start cutting on it - I’m going to be passed out drunk, under general anesthesia, knocked unconscious, comatose.......dead.....

EVERYone I speak with just rants about the results however. Emory is getting about $5k for it nowadays, and we'll even hear the occasional horror story from time to time. Like "Doctor was drunk, can only see 20/400 out of one eye" etc.

But wouldn't it be great just to crack open the computer with no glasses? No contacts?

A couple people in my family have gotten it and they all raved about it. I plan on getting it done in a couple of years, I hate glasses! I think if they gassed me pretty good I wouldn't mind. I can't even put contacts in my eyes!

Howdy All,
I'll rant!¡ Great surgery. Less than 10 minutes. They give you DRUGS :-) They could have given me a frontal lobotimy (sp?¿) I didn't care. What machine?¿ I was so blind I couldn't see anything any ways.

I'd love to have perfect vision but mine's not bad enough to risk it, I'm thinking. I'm just barely over the line of needing them to drive, and that's about the only time I wear them, or to check out babes some distance away.

Speaking of packaging, what the heck is it with packging nowadays that you need a jig saw to open stuff??????

Kuan- use Gorilla glue...
