It has its positives and negatives. Sunday is just another work day for example. Business call at 11pm(or later), sure, business call at 6am, sure. Doing research to the wee hours of the morning, yep.

I know it may sound glamorous, Ted, but sometimes it's just hard work and often thankless. . . . but the money's generally pretty good. I stop crying on pay day, usually.

Independence and being THE BOSS is the way to go.

Not too long ago, I was working with a business broker and nearly purchased a lucrative, well established commercial auto detailing biz.(e.g. car dealers, brokers and lease co's).

As the deal was coming together, the owner's new wife got in the mix and cut cash flow by 40%. No dealey-o sista' -- and she wore the pants.

Still looking...

Between the two of us - I'd bet we could run that list to 15 pages in short order.

If you have kids - the list goes even longer. Some of those can tear my heart out.

Yeah, I'm young as you know so I don't mind it. I just hope that in say 10 years I can afford to work because I want to, not because I have too.

But it kind of sucks. Saying to my friends on a Friday night, oh sorry I can't hang out. I have to do a project for school tomarrow, then a study on a building. But such is life.

There are a lot of plus sides to, when you guys are going to work at 6am fighting traffic, sometimes snow, I'm sleeping. If the weather looks iffy I don't go out.

I hope not, lol, this car is expensive! $300 for the car, over $1000 just for doing most of the regular maintence. Luckily, it runs fine, just probably not maintained in the last few years before I got it, no problems at all except for a messed up ignition switch and some small accidents (mainly broken lights, grill, etc. Currently have a bent LCA and steerking knuckle, working on fixing myself..). I'm totally broke now..

Financial adviser

After almost 20 years working shift work in an anhydrous ammonia plant I grew weary of the glass ceiling, time away from family, demanding hours, new (unsafe) management practices, deteriorating maintenance protocol and general disgruntlement and struck out as an insurance and investment adviser. It's a slow start (I haven't made this little money since 1988) but I am home every night and I love what I do. And, the only ceiling is the one I create myself. Plus, my Daddy always told me to find a job where I washed my hands after I went to the restroom, not before.
Chuck.

No idea how to do that. What is it used for? Or can a fella say....
Ammonia is interesting enough in itself. We have a problem with meth labs in this area and they were always trying to steal ammonia from trucks and tanks. They would catch it in an open bucket and drive home with it in the floorboard of the car. That's how a lot of those goons get caught. Speeding with the windows down and their heads out of the car in the dead of winter....

ammonium sulfide, aka, the extremely foul smelling liquid in those glass tube stink bombs, we're planning the senior prank for next year
