I've never seen a repair manual for a washer or dryer. All my traning was OJT or at factory sponsored seminars. Otherwise, I have no idea. Google?

Make sure the vent is clear and not folded over. Also, make sure that any screens over where the vent exits the house are free of any lint build-up. Gas dryers are particularly sensitive to poor venting or venting problems.

On the wash cycle there is a rythmic vibration sound. I can live with it, but wondered what is causing it. Thanks for the tip on the Dryer, I'll check that.

1) Might be an old belt with a hard spot in it.
2) Worn/leaking drain pump.
3) Sometimes the support rollers that the motor sits on will get flat spots and transmit funny vibrations.

I had trouble with MY 17 year old Maytag washer and all the information I needed to diagnose and fix was there. the parts I needed were in stock at a local appliance parts supply house. it cost me less than 20 bucks to fix. Older Maytag is built like a tank, but newer Maytag is about on par with entry level Kenmore.
