1961-180b/4cylider
Hi
I have head which was faced too much and the gasket went after 500 miles of the rebuild engine.Comp ratio was around 120-150 psi.Now i paid almost 160 usd and got a original MB head gasket.thiccness is around 0.080 inch.Has anyone faced with this? what else can you do now to get the engine back in service. |

i have heard of thick gaskets but would be surprised if one is made for such a rare old beast.

if a copper spacer would work, one could be made using the gasket as a pattern. my local sheet metal shop has a lazer guided by a computer which would do the job. i think another shop here has such a guided device which has a cutting head on it.
so if someone agrees that a spacer would work, if notheing else you could get it done here and i would help hook you up. tom w
