Well... not quite. Try 4.2 which is faster than a 911S. But, the MB is almost twice the price as the Audi. S600 - $190,000.00 / Audi R8 - $100,000.00

Wait a minute. New S600's are going for ~$140K, S65's are around $185k.

I'm pretty sure I'll be getting one of them with a V10 in a year or two. They're so cool.

I'll have to look at one at the auto show in NY this year. It better not just be a cheaper Lambo. I think Audi needs to work a bit to distence themselves from them. Audi should lead, not use detuned second hand Gallardo parts.

I cant find info on my car anywhere. I tried looking on that site before.
But they just have the later 93 and up models of sel 600's

I have a 92 sel 600 which had a decent amount more horsepower.

Is there any way someone could actually find EXACTLY the info on a
92 sel 600 quarter mile time and 0-60 ? Thanks.

It should be the same as a 93. The output of the engine's afaik didn't change until they changed the ignition system in 1996 or 97.

The best way is to take it to a track and run it.

Not quite. The '92 600 had 408 hp. The emissions controls in Europe and the USA were tightened for 1993 and as a result of that the '93 600 (only) had 389 hp.

So theoretically the '92 could be a little quicker than the '93 figures posted above. I haven't seen the actual figures though for the '92 600, which is what Will is looking for.

Yea trust me guys I googled, yahoo and everything trying to find info on a 92 sel 600 but I cant find NOTHING at all. I can't believe its so hard to find info on it.

And of course t heres no way of knowing just by driving it to know what you would run in the quarter mile or 0-60 but getting up to 60 mph from a stand still seems a lot quicker then the posted time, I had car's that ran in the 15's, 14's and even breaking into the 13's but this car definitely doesnt feel like anything in the 15's ???

Thats a very small HP difference, certainly within the margin of error, I don't think the times would be that different.

20hp+/- isn't much, heck you can lose that running at a higher elevation, or on a 100 degree day.

Maybe I'm crazy but I'm telling you theres no way it takes this car 6.6 seconds to get to 60. Or does a + 15 sec quarter mile.


I hope I can find some info somewhere on a 92 600 sel.

In 1992, emissions standards weren't as strict.

M.B. Doc has posted that 1992 cars allowed for fuel enrichment at WOT (wide open throttle), which I think is the reason for the additional hp.

It is for this reason that 1992 500E's have more hp than 1993 and 1994 models.

The difference, however, is only good for about 1/10th of a second in the 0-60 times.
