The whole possibility of AI question is, IMO, identical in substance to the question of whether or not we can be a brain in a vat (BIV).

If we were a BIV then we could never possibly know.

Do the Impossible: Know Thyself
What is it you are talking about? Do you want to know "a" human being or do you want to know "Yourself"?

It is possible to know yourself! To state "Do the impossible" is somewhat reluctant.

For those who continue trying to know themselves via intellect, it will be impossible, simply, because that's not the way it works.

Intellect is the world of "would be, should be & could be".

Same for those who circle around "beliefs", trying to find explanations for their beliefs and end up in nothing more than justifications for theological ideas and doctrines.

It is possible to know yourself, only by the way of heart. Not the pump, but what you describe as "god-shaped' residing inside of you.

Mind and intellect will never comprehend the heart, those elements are not designed for the purpose to know yourself.

You want to know yourself? Get in touch with your heart.

Want to know how to get in touch with your heart? Find the Master of your time.

You think I am kidding? I am not.

No. But it can endow a man with a clear sinal cavity.

I think I agree. It seems that the problem can be solved two ways. Either consciousness is denied and we think in terms of neurons, or we think that the neurons are themselves products of consciousness.

It is fact that we need a Master to show and teach us how to get in touch with ourselves, just as we need teachers for every other aspect of our existence.

A significant difference though, is that the knowledge about "ourselves" is already available inside ourselves.
What we need the Master for, is to show us how to access and how to practice "the art of accessing yourself".

Most individuals suffer from confusion. Instead of actually getting to know themselves, they continue to discuss the matter, while confusing the discussion of the essence, with the essence itself.

For example:

You are hungry. You go to a restaurant. You call the waiter to bring you the menue.
Now, are you going to order food and actually eat the food ...
...or do you continue to discuss the menue?

Another example:

You are really thirsty. Really thirsty. Someone places a glass with fresh, cool water in front of you.
Now, are you going to drink the water and quench your thirst ....
... or do you start a discussion about the shape of the glass, or how nice the water looks and how it is sientifically known as H2O?

What do you do if you do not have a teacher?

It's truly a loaded question. Basically, you would have to find, not only a teacher, but the true Master. Which doesn't exactly make it easier.
Otherwise, I'd say, chances are slim. But who am I to say.

Every human life and it's way toward fulfillment is entirely unique. One may find many teachers on the way to the Master.

Open your mind, open your heart. Look for signs on your journey through this life.

Prem Rawat
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Prem Pal Singh Rawat also called Maharaji, (formerly called Guru Maharaj Ji) is a speaker and teacher on the subject of "inner peace", and says that he is able to offer a practical way to experience it.[3][4] He calls his method "Knowledge" which primarily consists of four meditation techniques.[5] Rawat describes it as a way to take "all your senses that have been going outside all your life, turn them around and put them inside to feel and to actually experience you".[6]

Techniques of Knowledge

The techniques of Knowledge as taught by Prem Rawat, known as Maharaji to his students, comprises four meditation techniques that he claims allow the practitioner to experience calmness, peace, and contentment. [1][2][3] Rawat describes it as a way to take "all your senses that have been going outside all your life, turn them around and put them inside to feel and to actually experience you"[4]

Descriptions

According to the Dutch religious scholar and Christian minister Reender Kranenborg and the American religious scholar J. Gordon Melton, these techniques were originally were called "Light", "Sound", "Name" or "Word" and "Nectar" but Maharaji now refers to them as the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th techniques. [8][7][9]

While Hunt, Kranneborg and others refer to these techniques as being secret, Maharaji only asks practitioners to promise "not to reveal these techniques to anyone. Let other people go through their own journey, and when they are ready, like you, they can get it. There are no shortcuts to it. There are shortcuts to many things in life, but there is no shortcut when the heart is going to be the judge. The heart cannot be talked into anything. The mind can be convinced, but the heart has to feel the real thing. Let people prepare. Then they, too, can have the techniques when they are ready."[10]

Yes indeed, when its essence is fully internalized and processed it can endow a clairity of concesiouness that, sans evacuation of the aforementioned impuritys and resedues of the past, might be otherwise impossible. It also goes by the name Zaw's Hot & Sour, and resides in roughly the 2000 block of Murray Ave awaiting devotees.

A slap to the face, then you will know thyself.
