You are just renting it...

That is one of the reasons why suicide became a crime (assuming you survived). By trying to kill yourself you were destroying the King's property.

To be more direct you were destroying the kings money making revenue....Actually Sir Judge Ernesto- All High on Mohito ville- didn't the law about suicide find its roots in the Bible?

I suspect that the Bible found its roots in the cultural norms, as dictated by the kings and priests.

In England the King got to keep ALL of the property of the person who attempted (or actually committed) suicide. His heirs got nada!

I think that the law was later changed so that only personal property was forfeited, not real estate.

Not a bad deal.

I know for sure that the early church had nothing to say about suicide. It was only later that the church changed its tune about offing oneself.

I don't think that the Romans or the Greeks had anything against suicide.

And in Japan suicide was considered an honorable decision under certain circumstances.

But setting your buddy's huevos on fire, when he asks for it, should not be a crime.

Nope - They didn’t cover that one.

But if you’ve watched most any show regarding the K-141 disaster, you got a good lesson in that one, as well as with hydrogen peroxide. We built it with lathe shavings. Took longer than we predicted, but when it went, it went big.

I took a course with the USFS on explosives (caps, sticks, rope, etc) and improvised explosives (trash bags, fertilizers, that sort of stuff). Used mainly by them (USFS) to blow holes in the ground to keep Jeepers out of off limit areas. That was fun. I like big booms.
Just not when related to airplanes or helicopters.

in my younger days i used to frequent a small bar in the rochester michigan area which had a special drink they called the "Mexican revolution". it incluede several layers including i think grenadine juice and was topped with either tequila or 180 rum. it was served with the top layer flaming.

one hapless individual tried to drink it one night with the flame still burning. i guess he didn't get it.

he caught his face hair on fire and left afterwords a very uncomfortable camper.
