Lets talk about something important for a change...

Fishing!

Anyway opening day is coming up for CT, its on April 21st this year. In keeping with traditions as I have for the past 11 years, I will be on the stream at 5:30am with my trusty Orvis Superfine in hand. Look out trout!

This is my favorite weekend of the year because it is nothing but fishing, and drinking beer, and talking about important stuff, like cars, war, and fishing.

The salt will be starting up soon to, but no yet waters still pretty cold. But the fluke should be active pretty soon.

Bring your fly rod and some of those Yankee trout to S. Texas if you want some real fishing fun. Rent a kayak, cut up the trout for bait, and fish for reds in the Laguna Madre. To hook a 25 lb. bull red with a fly rod in the flats and have it tow your boat for half a mile while you sip on your choice of brews, now that's a rush.

Bring another fly rod and catch speckled trout while the red tires himself.

My brother lives in Miami and I've always envied his ability to pull over on the way home and hook a snook or a baracuda.

On the 14th I'll be back up on the stream uninhabited by man or fish with 15 guys in the various stages of passed out along the trail.

Can't wait.

Hunting is more fun, and I have to wait until September. Summer is for golf and screwing around with the kids.

Most fun fishing I had was last decade in Boca Grande - caught a nice 66" Tarpon. What a dancin' machine.

If anyone thinks this is a “fish story”, I can tell you it’s not.
I didn’t have the brew, nor did I try for trout at the same time. But last year in the shallows behind the Redfish Lodge (Rockport,TX), I took this same ride. Quite a rush indeed.

Thanks for the memory kip !!

WWHHAAATT? . That sounds really awesome!! I want to go. I can get a load down there anytime. Just say when., and where and I can make it happen if I get like week or two notice. I'll pay for gas, or whatever else we'll need, including the Coors, and Bud, or whatever "floats your boat"-Pun intended. I'm game for all of that. Since, I'll be in my tractor trailer with only a small freezer, you'll have to keep the catch. Maybe we could cook some up after fishing, so we can have it fresh, etc.
Just let me know...Nick
