I don’t usually jump on the Hollywood-bashing bandwagon but I’ve never been that wild about Gere. He always struck me a sort of a groupie when he was getting photo ops with the Dali Lama. That he would have no more sense than to realize that one had best be very cautious in making overtures to women in foreign lands doesn’t speak well for his overall wisdom.

The actress is probably going to pay a much bigger price for that than he will. Ain’t right of course but what are you going to do?

I think that's an over-simplification.

Deeply ingrained social mores and taboos are going to do what they do, regardless of how liberated some of us may think we are. Public displays of affection don't go down well in many countries.

I'm particularly drawn to Indian women because I'm not too keen on passing my 'two notches away from Albino' coloration on to my descendants. In the foreseeable future, that kind of coloration is not likely to be much of a benefit.

Indian women (people) have facial features not unlike Europeans -- Aryan roots, I've read -- not that I despise other facial types, but I sorta concur with my sister who once said she'd like to have kids that look somewhat like her.

I mean, if I could afford and attract 10 wives, it'd be great fun to experiment with gene combinations (oh baby) but if'n it's going to be one only, an Indian lady might do it.
