Richard Gere makes fool of himself

I just happened to catch Richard Gere’s single-handedly creating an international incident in India on the Daily Show:

I don’t usually jump on the Hollywood-bashing bandwagon but I’ve never been that wild about Gere. He always struck me a sort of a groupie when he was getting photo ops with the Dali Lama. That he would have no more sense than to realize that one had best be very cautious in making overtures to women in foreign lands doesn’t speak well for his overall wisdom.

The actress is probably going to pay a much bigger price for that than he will. Ain’t right of course but what are you going to do?
