It is a browser setting. If you're using Internet Explorer check the following:

Tools->Internet Options; go to the Advanced tab, and scroll down to the Mutlimedia section. Make sure the settings are checked off as desired including Play animations in web pages.

The banana image is in GIF format and GIF format images do support animation - it's just that your browser is not cycling through the frames of the GIF animation for some reason ... it's got nothing to do with HTML. Many applications (Photoshop, IrfanView, Firefox, IE Explorer, etc.) can display GIF images, but it's up to each application to decide if it wants to cycle through the frames of the animation, and how quickly to do it. I still think there's a setting in your browser's preferences that says to not play the animations. Try reloading the page, or upgrade to a newer browser (Internet Explorer I presume?) if you're using an old version.

Where can I find more info on GIF settings on my computer? I have upgraded to IE vs.7 and checked for updates but he still don't dance. I wonder what else I'm missing on other pages! Thanks for the help I do appreciate it.

Well, I still think the problem is with Internet Explorer (IE). As a test I unchecked the option Play animations in web pages, restarted IE and bingo, no animation on the banana. I think I'm using the latest version of IE on Windows XP.

Here's again how to find that option with Internet Explorer:

From your IE menu ... Tools->Internet Options; go to the Advanced tab, and scroll down to the Mutlimedia section. Make sure the settings are checked off (or on ) as desired including Play animations in web pages. You'll have to restart your browser to get the settings to take effect.

If that's not the problem, then I don't know what it could be.

I hope this does not insult you but did you hit the "apply" button?

And are the smilies moving? If they are you have some junked code in your browser and need the delete the entire cache.

I think you need to push the "restore defaults" panic button.
