Seriously... That would imply that you give quite a bit of thought to the "loony tunes" here, eh.

You're off your game today boss -- even with your friends going up to bat for ya.

Where did you get 12,000 from?

It was a draw really, and if we're being 100% honest with ourselves it was the British Army who did most of the damage on our behalf. The only real exception to that rule was a fairly major engagement where French-Canadians repulsed a large invasion force trying to move up the St. Lawrence towards Montreal/Quebec City. There are a lot of Canadians who enjoy the myth that we handed the US their asses. But it was the British. The US wisely worked towards a peace agreement because the UK had finished taking care of Napoleon (or so they thought) and suddenly had a bunch of battle-hardened troops they could send over to North America, as well as the navy to transport them.

Easy pickings! We go in, take over, and be back home in time to watch American Idol!

Yeah...cause the US is in a fine state to start another invasion of a foreign land. Would we bankroll the invasion for you or deal directly with China?

Ernesto, if I didn't know better I'd swear you were baiting me.

What I'd love to know is how far those thirsty turbine-engined tanks are going to make it as soon as we shut off the oil supply. Ernesto, weren't you the one who so kindly showed us that Canada is the #1 petroleum exporter to the US?

We can ask the Chinese, they will pay for anything as long as they think they can turn around and make a profit.

We can send a couple of local Boy Scout troops, that's all we need.

Heck, we can even draft some Cuban immigrants to do the job. You know how they feel about Canada's close ties to Castro. Just as long as the U.S. gov't doesn't pull the air cover, like JFK, they will be fine.

Qui, je? (That's French, but you probably already knew that).

Come on Chris, you know you want it. Heck, half of Hollywood is already Canadian.

Come on Chris, give in to the Good Side.....

By then we would have already made Mexico the 51st state, thus using their crude (remember, they are the #2 exporters).

I've this all figured out Jonathan.

BTW, I found one glaring mistake in the Enduring Passion book. I'll email you later.

Nah, born and bred Canadian, will stay here until I die. Be it at a ripe old age or fighting off an American-enlisted Cuban invader.

Not one of John Candy's best performances, God rest his soul, though I don't recall much of it...or maybe I am confusing it with Red Dawn. Speaking of John Candy, didn't he post here recently?

Red Dawn...ha ha ha...I get it.

Lea Thompson and Jennifer Grey...nice!

[in the now-occupied Calumet, Colorado]
Colonel Ernesto Bella: It would seem necessary to win the support of the people. As our opponents used to say in Vietnam: "Win their hearts and minds."
General Bratchenko: And they lost, Ernesto... Morale is crucial right now. Keep the men in the secured areas. You'll see how they forget about these "Wolverines."
Colonel Ernesto Bella: [Toni blows up a nearby "Soviet-American Friendship Center."] You were saying, Comrade?
General Bratchenko: Oh, shut up!

Nice little end of Cold War movie. (The Cold War is over, isn't it?)

Here is a one-sentence description of the movie Canadian Bacon:

The US economy is in a rut, and so is the president's approval rating. What we need is a good war, but the Russians aren't interested. Hey -- how about that big polite country to the north?

Watch out Chris. The Republicans need a good little war to keep the Dems' arses in 2008.

There are some parts of Canadian Bacon that flaunt Micheal Moores brilliance as a movie maker. My favorite part was when the General was discussing the deployment of Omega Force in Canada but could not because doctrine prohibited Omega Force from acting against caucasians.
