Actually, such a plan would probably be successful. The government would demand the money to be returned.........they wouldn't be seeking any interest on the money..........

I seem to recall that they not only seek interest on the money, they seek taxes. It's an inconsistent stand, but the government does that sort of thing on a daily basis in every area of its realm.

Every time I leave my house.........the reminders begin after the first two or three blocks........and continue unabated throughout the day.

The latest beauty:

My machinist makes a mistake on a part. The reason that he made the mistake is the fact that he used his own judgment because he couldn't reach me by cell phone at the exact second that he needed the information. Therefore, he's not responsible for the mistake and wants to be paid for the mistake and the cost to fix the mistake.

........because I don't have a cell phone........

I hear it. I ***** endlessly on the subject. I work in -2- offices everyday that strictly adhere to the code of ignorance. I have no workload, but I'm not a contractor, direct employee, they pay me whether I have anything to do or not. So, the IT guys start blocking my internet and delete programs when I'm not there because I'm "screwing around", its not enough I found a second job, so I only have to waste half the day there. Then... They dont tell me about it they leave a note on the supervisors desk, and he comes to me with his head down, and lets me know what I did this time.

I would have wired that check overseas so fast, moved it around a bit, gotten it stolen, and well moved to Canada.:D

Stupid people, only politicians and government contractors can steal that kind of money.

She just didn't think it through, to much of a hurry. I might have just shown as income and paid the appropriate quarterly state/fed taxes. If questioned just play dumb like the state - we goofed.

This was powered by greed - they wanted all the money.

Then at year-end I would have overpaid on income.

If the money was received and returned within the same year..........I seriously doubt that you'd be in any risk of a tax problem.
