Is anyone in the St.Louis,Mo. area, who can help me out.

Ok, About a month and a half ago, I purchased an 82 280CE Euro, off of ebay from a guy who lives in WoodRiver, Illinois, just north-east, of St.Louis, Mo. I've been unable to pick the car up from him, as of yet, due to my work schedule. I have planned on going down there, and picking the car up in about three weeks. I cannot get down there before that though.
The guy is really nice, and I don't want to get him mad, or cause him any more grief. The car is in his driveway, and kinda using up all of his space though, and his wife is on him about moving it.
Is there anyone here, in the forum who would be willing to pick it up, and store it for a few more weeks for me, until I can get down there, and drive it home..?
Any help would be appreciated, I just need to get it out of there. I can pay for storage, or something like that. The car has no reg though, and I cannot get reg for it, 'til I actually have it at home in Ct. and it goes through the state's Vin Varification process.
The car is nice looking and runs well. It will blend with the rest of traffic, and does not attract any extra attention.
A short drive, if someone lives locally down there would be pretty much risk free.

Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Nick

Wood River isn't far from me, but I have no place to park a car without plates.

I can send you some Ct. plates, but they are registered to one of my 300CD's. Unless someone looked closely enough at it, they likely wouldn't know the dif. and I doubt anyone would go through the trouble of looking anything up..

If you can get some sort of plates and paperwork showing why I had it, just in case the boys in blue came sniffing around, I'd take it home, but I live 50-60 miles away from Wood River, in Lake St. Louis, MO

I can see what I can come up with, but I don't really know what would be suitable for a statement, of sorts. I guess I'd have to write something out, saying that you are storing the car for me. What's the likelihood of them even looking at it though..?

A car hauler will deliver your car to your front door for less than $1000

truckinik 06-03-2007 12:17 PM

I can have it towed to your house if driving it w/no legal reg. is an issue. I just need to be able to store it for three more weeks, 'til I get down there to pick it up, and drive it home.

Or less. If you're in the trucking industry, there's that little word called "connections". :)

I must have spoken with 25 car haulers about it already. Money is not the problem, Booking it is. It seems they are all swamped, and booked for the next few months atleast, and I cannot wait that long. A few of them can pick it up in September, if I'd like, but not before that..Very aggravating to say the least.

Use Horseless Carriage my wifes grandfather used them to haul his car last week I think they picked the car up in two days after his call.

or if it get that bad I had to move a car and paid a retired friend to drive a uhaul truck and car hauler to pick the car up and bring it home after a car died in the middle of a road trip.

or

Air Transport

or

Rail

or

Give someone a one way plane ticket and let them drive it back

so on and so forth

Asking a forum member to do something illegal is frowned upon.

Howitzer...

Who are you, the fricking board police. The guy just asked for some help. Get off your high horse or someone might knock you off.

Never mind him Joe and thanks. He's been trolling for days, and is going to end up banned. He's been harrassing me, in particular, for no reason at all. He started with me, and caused me to have to eliminate a thread, just to get him off my back. I did not provoke him ever, under any of his other past names either. He won't get away with it for long, if he keeps it up, someone will end up reporting him or something.
Far as asking someone to do something illegal goes, I did, as you said, only ask for help, in solving this dilemma I'm in. I did not ask anyone to do anything illegal. All I need is about three weeks of storage. I can even have the car towed there, or have the P.O. do the driving. I just need to get the car out of the guy's property, 'til I can get down that way to either drive it, or haul it to Ct.

Deputy what?

Seriously, this board exists so we can help each other out. He never said a single word about doing anything illegal. For you to imply he did is nearly criminal in and of itself.

I don't know the history between you, but you're out of line on this one.

Have a wonderful day.
