Yes and no, IMO. No other critter has anywhere near our capacity to alter the habitat of other species. I often think we're mad with power as a species. It's hard to look at, say, and abandoned shopping mall with a huge parking lot with weeds poking through here and there and call that natural.

I'll certainly agree with the "soon" part.
